This lovely black Tuxedo community cat was brought in with a tooth abscess. Our consultant vet gave her a check-up and found that she could also be suffering from renal failure. We did some tests and found that this girl is also FIV-positive.

Because of her condition, we’re keeping her isolated from the cats in our shelter. We’ve been treating her tooth abscess and monitoring her condition for the past week, flushing her twice a week with fluids to rid the toxins in her kidneys. She is also on a special diet of k/d Feline Renal Health. Unfortunately, because FIV can be passed on to other cats, we are unable to keep her in our shelter.

We’re appealing for possible adopters for this lovely girl. Her forever family will have to continue the special diet and flushing regime, and should not have another cat in the household. This beautiful cat may have FIV, but a vigilant pet owner can assist her to live a reasonably long life.

This lovely girl will continue to stay under observation in our shelter for another week. If you’re able to give her a permanent home, please contact us at 6287 5355 ext. 14 or email us at clinic@spca.org.sg.
