Just recently, PAW organized a trip to Noah's Ark in Johor. For me, it was my first visit there. Having heard so much about it from my friends and aunt, I was really excited about the trip across the causeway and visiting the wonderful animal sanctuary. My aunt had told me about the huge number of animals in the shelter, as well as the fun and joy she had during her visit earlier this year. Being an animal lover, I was looking forward to it. It had rained just before we reached the animal shelter but that certainly didn't dampen our spirits!
Upon arrival, I saw that the sanctuary was was very kampong-like, reminiscent of my grandmother's place. We waited at the side gate before one of the Noah's ark volunteers welcomed us and showed us around. It was the first time I saw so many animals roaming around freely! It was awe-inspiring as volunteers related story after story about the animals there.
At Noah's Ark, the animals enjoy absolute freedom under the watchful eye of the volunteers. It was very heart-warming to see that there is such a place on earth still. The animals are well taken care of, provided with food, water and shelter over their heads. The 3 most basic things in life. Noah's Ark did not believe in euthanasia, opting the total opposite which was the provision of unconditional love till their natural death.
Very much like Noah in the bible, Raymond, founder of Noah's Ark, built an ark. This ark is a special home where abandoned and abused animals are given a second chance and well cared for. Noah's Ark is a very unique animal sanctuary which gives so many animals a place to call home. Personally, I truly respect the efforts and sacrifices the volunteers have made over the years. This visit has made me want to do more for the animals and continue to support Noah's Ark and what they are doing. Indeed, Noah's Ark is a heaven for all these animals on planet Earth. We certainly hope to visit again!
