Dear Dr Chan, My sister in law adopted him since Dec 2013 as per my previous email. We love him. I was babysitting him for a week ( last 2 weeks) due to my sister in law went outstation. So I will be co-owner as well . He is a happy cat. Don’t be shock to see his tummy got shaved.Vet thought he was a girl.I nearly fainted after I fetched him from vet. But he is well & operation completed at the right area. Thank you Animalcare for the previous medical & vaccination subsidy. We appreciate it very much. Regards, |
We have heard of a case subsidised by us (for the right procedure – thank goodness) where a trainee vet had actually opened up the poor male cat to look for the uterus. When such accidents have happened and can happen, it pays for the rescuer to check the gender of the cat or dog in the presence of the vet and ensure that the vet (or trainee) knows the gender of the animal.
My vet, for example, will insist that the rescuer/caregiver/owner be present throughout the entire examination and a discussion of the procedure will be done with risks involved explained. It is not superfluous. It is really quite necessary.
