ANOTHER ROAD ACCIDENT RESULTS IN AMPUTATION

You may remember reading about Hanoi recently who had to have his leg amputated (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.643614662346939.1073742508.108625789179165&type=1)

Unfortunately another dog has come to the Soi Dog clinic due to a road accident, which has also resulted in an amputation. Wakka was found by animal rescue officer Khun Sanae near one of Phuket’s piers after being hit by a car. Wakka was brought to the Soi Dog Clinic in terrible pain and unable to use both his front legs. After painkillers and rest for a week, Wakka was able to use one of his front legs and was once again able to walk. Wakka however was unable to put weight on his other leg and the vets put his leg in a cast, however the leg was unable to be saved and Wakka recently had to undergo an amputation. Wakka’s surgery went very well and his wound is now healing. We will update you on Wakka’s progress as he learns to cope with only three legs and we have no doubt that he will adjust as many dogs before him have and will soon be enjoying life to the fullest once again.

Without your help it would not be possible to provide the urgent care and treatment needed for road accident victims like Wakka. Only you can help Wakka and dogs like him by becoming a member of the Emergency Response Team which exists to treat cases such as this. You can sign up to join this team at https://www.soidog.org/en/donate-today/ert/ert.html
