CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES AT BURIRAM SHELTER
Tweet |
Construction has recently commenced on the fifth and sixth shelters to house the dogs rescued form the dog meat trade at Buriram in northern Thailand. These purpose built shelters provide a more comfortable living environment for the dogs and having all the dogs the rescued in one location, rather than spread across several shelters, increases their chances of adoption. While Soi Dog and generous donors are responsible for funding these shelters and the care and feeding of these dogs, these shelters are staffed by employees of the Department of Livestock Development and having the dogs in one location makes better use of staff time and in turn provides better care for the dogs.
Caring for these dogs is only possible with your help. It costs over $46,000 per month to feed the dogs rescued from the dog meat trade and we can only do this with your assistance.
