Dear donors
Our furry friends continue to enjoy blessings in the year just passed.Your donations in 2013 fully covered the year’s operating expenses. From your act of kindness & generosity, our furry friends are able to live free from fear and hunger, reside in a safe refuge, and receive care & medical attention when they are sick or injured. May your hearts rejoice in their well-being.
Thanks also to friends who wish to remain anonymous, yellow palms, frangipani & kumquart plants were planted in the common areas within the shelter in July & August. The shelter certainly looks much nicer with the added greenery, and on hot sunny days, the palms & plants provide welcomed relief from the glaring sun for our furry friends. In December, they also sponsored the replacement of the front fencing with a brick wall and new gate, also the old main drain with a new & deeper drain & levelling of flooring for more effective water flow & drainage. Another friend who also wished to be anonymous sponsored the installation of a new awning roof for the front kennels to replace the old asbestos roofing which had become a health hazard as numerous families of rats & mice were living and breeding between the old two tiered roofing.
To all our 2013 donors listed below, thank you all so much for supporting the well-being of our furry friends.
Lucky was adopted by a friend on 28 July.
Jhana, Bodhi, Metta & Upekkha were adopted at ISPCA adoption drive on 16 Sep. Upekhha was returned next day which turned out to be a blessing as Wendy was pining for her pups.
Kalu was taken to ISPCA 2nd adoption drive on 16 Nov but was so fearful & stressed, we took him back to the shelter.
Billie-Jean (BJ) was adopted on 25 Nov by my cousin, Sally, who kindly offered to adopt her when she heard that BJ would be taken back to the shelter. BJ had been unwell & was cared for in my home. In 2012, Sally had adopted Whitney, renamed Georgy-Girl (GG). BJ and GG are now buddies in Sally’s home.
Sandy who was injured by the bigger strays outside the shelter, recovered from her wounds in my home, but succumbed to severe convulsions a few days laterin the early hours of the morning. She passed away in my arms. I am grateful she did not die alone.
A few pix of taken of the young ones below:
Woof-woof goodbye from Tammy (3/7), Lek-Lek & Sonny (11/7), Sophie (10/10), May-May (27/12) & Baby (30/12).
Meow-meow goodbye from Tigirl (22/2) & Citta (14/9).
Pictures I had taken of all of them were lost when my hard disk crashed. They are gone but will forever be remembered & appreciated for the joy & friendship they gave unconditionally. May they (including Sandy) find rebirth in a happy realm.
Kind regards
judy
