FENCE MUST BE BUILT TO STOP BUTCHERS

FRIEND animal shelter is rescuing sick and injured stray animals in Dneproperovsk City, Ukraine. In 2012, Harmony Fund helped them purchase a large plot of land to become a haven for the hundreds of dogs they care for at any given time. The shelter has been steadily coming along, making slow improvements with limited time and funds. And so many animals have been deeply BLESSED to take sanctuary here. But, as happens in so many parts of the world, some individuals have decided to act on their dark compulsions and to disrupt the peace here.

The shelter was broken into recently and several dogs disappeared. Though we will not show you any photos of what was found on the crime scene or go into any specific detail (far too upsetting), it has been absolutely shattering to find that these horrible men took their time in taking apart the bodies of these precious dogs.

As we write, donated surveillance equipment is now monitoring the property and a massive fence must be constructed. All possible barriers will be put into place to prevent another late night attack and we will discuss how feasible it might be to have a guard on duty as well.

We don’t share this news to upset you, but simply to say that even when the dogs make it to a shelter, there is often a second wave of attack. It’s happened again and again to so many of the rescue squads we are helping across the planet. Today, we’re sending money for construction of the fence and lending our support to this rescue squad in the Ukraine who have show more kindness to animals in one week than some people do in a lifetime.
