Are You A Pet Parent?

Happy New Year, everyone!
This is shared by Cindy Lim:
It is a very apt and good reminder to all of us who are pet parents. Adopting a pet is a huge responsibility and once adopted, we need to have the commitment to see him/her through. Pets do fall ill, they may get injured, they may even have long-term health problems later in life. Are we prepared to see them through it all? Do we have the financial resources to give them all that they need, as best we can?
This brings to the question that is often posed to us: Why can’t be subsidise the treatment of pets? We cannot, because if we accept even one pet, we have to accept all, then we will close shop in less than half a month! We hope pet owners will understand this – that our organisation was started to help street animals and not pets, simply because we don’t have the financial resources to extend help to ALL animals. That is a scope which is far too wide for us to cover.
So, if you are a pet parent, it would be good to be reminded that we can only adopt as many as we can look after. They depend on us for life. And most of the time, they provide much happiness and unconditional love to us too!
