WE LAUGH IN THE FACE OF WINTER!

Brutal cold is moving in on so many countries, but that’s when we do our finest work. Here you see shelter leader Stefan holding a mother dog who was found tied in a sack with her two pups at left at the gate of the St. Francis shelter in Romania. The shelter team say, “She is very nice and loving,” and they hope to find her a home internationally. Yes, Stefan looks a bit tired here. The days at the shelter are very long with 350 little ones to care for, and the cold is draining.

Though it’s easy to get discouraged at all the suffering winter brings, we have made a conscious decision to stay positive. We are accelerating our aid to rescue squads in the coldest climates on earth and a great deal of aid is going out to Romania and Serbia this week.
