Volunteer at Asia For Animals Conference 2014!

Registration now open for volunteering at Asia For Animals Conference 2014! The conference will be held at Furama Riverfront Hotel from 13th – 17th January 2014. Volunteering job-scope and number of volunteer needed are as below:

1. Roadshow Assistant (needed from 13th to 16th Jan)

- Setup and tear down of roadshow.

- Man the roadshow.

- Act as information desk on conference schedule, hotel map directory, ACRES, nearby food centres / public transport options / money changer / restrooms.

- Receive and record monetary transactions.

- Advice on shirt sizing using sample sizes.

No. of volunteers per day/ shift: 2 pax

Requirements: Friendly and warm personality, English / Mandarin / Tamil / Malay

2. Ushers (needed from 13th to 16th Jan)

- Greet attendees.

- Show delegates to seats.

- Identify workshop rooms / conference times / Food & Beverage stations / restrooms.

- Moderate breakout sessions by herding the crowd back into rooms after breaks.

- Provide handheld microphones for the floor during Q&A sessions.

- Act as information desk on conference schedule, hotel map directory, ACRES, nearby food centres / public transport options / money changer / restrooms.

No. of volunteers per day/ shift: 4 pax

Requirements: Outgoing personality, polite and courteous.

3. Registration & Receptionist (needed from 13th to 16th Jan)

- Register delegates and distribute name tags and conference packs.

- Receive and record registration payments where necessary.

- Manage conference tour details where necessary.

- Act as information desk on conference schedule, hotel map directory, ACRES, nearby food centres / public transport options / money changer / restrooms.

No. of volunteers per day/ shift: 3 pax (8 pax needed on 14th Jan, shift 1)

Requirements: Systematic work attitude, friendly and warm, proficient in English & Mandarin / Tamil / Malay

4. Dispatcher (only needed on 17th Jan)

Passenger headcount

Liaise with person-in-charge of each visit location.

No. of volunteers: 2 pax

Requirements: Outgoing personality, polite, courteous, friendly and warm, proficient in English & Mandarin / Tamil / Malay

Daily duty shift reference:

13th Jan: 8:30am – 1:30pm (shift 1), 1pm – 5:30pm (shift 2)

14th Jan: 7:30am – 3:30pm (shift 1), 3pm – 10:30pm (shift 2)

15th Jan: 8:30am – 1:30pm (shift 1), 1pm – 5:30pm (shift 2)

16th Jan: 8:30am – 3:30pm (shift 1), 3pm – 10:30pm (shift 2)

17th Jan: 0830am – 5:30pm

Notes:

* Volunteer must be able to attend the pre-event briefing on 12th Jan 2014, 5pm at Furama RiverFront Hotel.

* CIP hours will be awarded but non-project work volunteer are preferred.

* Volunteer are required to report in for duty 15 minutes before shift starts.

* Volunteer will be needed to help with set-up & tear down.

* Dress code: Long pants, covered shoes & ACRES’ t-shirt should you already own one. If not, we will need you to purchase the ACRES tee at a special price of $7 specially ACRES for volunteers.

* Letter of participation & appreciation will be awarded to the volunteers.
