The Closure Of Our Food Fund

In conjunction with that announcement ,we informed all our Food Fund recipients that the last day for all petfood requests is 20th December 2013 and we hoped the 3 month-period would be sufficient time for them to source alternative sources for petfood and budget their expenses accordingly.
We also made an announcement that should any reader wish to help our Food Fund recipients with private donations, they could write to us and we will give them the contact details of these recipients.
On 31st October, we announced that there will no longer be any topping-up of bills from donations made to us. All applicants will receive subsidies as per policy:http://myanimalcare.org/2013/10/31/as-per-policy/. Again, if any reader wishes to top-up the bills of our applicants, they could write to us and we will provide the contact details of these applicants so that the readers may liaise directly with the applicants.
As of today, we know of the following:
Food Fund Recipients who have received and will be receiving help from our readers, as far as we know:
Maslinda Abd Talib:- We have been helping Maslinda in our caregiving work since 7th March 2011 in the neutering, medical treatment and food bills for her community cats and the rescued ones. Two of our readers have consecutively topped-up her bills to 100% until 31st October 2013. For next year, one of our readers will help Maslinda with catfood sponsorship.
Pak Din (Noordin Hashim)- We have been helping Pak Din with a few medical bills and catfood and dogfood over the years since 7th August 2011. Pak Din seldom claims as he tries to make do with his own money. One reader has, since September 2013, been helping Pak Din with the medical treatment and neutering of his animals as well as in petfood sponsorship.
Susan Ann Bell & Margie Tan Chin Liang- We have been helping Susan Bell and Margie Tan with subsidies for neutering and medical treatment of the animals under their care, as per policy, as well as food donations since 23rd October 2012. Most of their bills are for neutering. One reader has offered to help them with dogfood donation when our Food Fund closes.
Mdm Lim Tiang Seouk- We have been helping Mdm Lim with neutering and food donations since 20th February 2013, topping up her neutering bills with extra donations from one donor (but Mdm Lim seldom applies as she depends on her daughter, Nujtiya, to help her ferry the dogs to the clinic whenever Nujtiya goes home on leave). One reader has offered to help with top-ups for Mdm Lim’s bills as well as dogfood donation in 2014.
Lester Hiew Thiam Hock & Jenny Khong Chin Chin- We have been helping Lester and Jenny with medical, neutering subsidies and food donations since 31st March 2013. The bulk of their claims are in medical subsidies. Two of our readers have channeled financial assistance to them through us and also privately on their own. We have been topping up Lester and Jenny’s claims to 100% with the extra donations from these two donors until we made a decision to cease all top-ups on 31st October 2013.
Norshahadah bt Rusli- We have been helping Norshah with neutering, medical and food donations since 18th April 2013, topping up her neutering bills with extra donations from one donor until 31st October 2013. Currently, one reader has offered to help Norshah with catfood donation in 2014 and the topping-up of her bills for one year. This reader had also taken over the topping-up of Norshah’s bills since 1st November 2013.
We wish to thank our readers above for stepping up to help our Food Fund recipients once our Food Fund closes by the end of the month. All applicants are welcome to apply for our medical and neutering subsidies and we will provide as per our policy.
There have been many Food Fund recipients over the years. To name some of them: Meiji Lee Lai Fun, Hoo Yuh Ruh, Low Hong Hang, Maslina Omar, Farose Adam, Kelly Tan Juat Jong & Jacinta Emmanuel, Mutharam Vasthilingam and Tan Mei Lian. A few of these recipients now have their own arrangements to sustain their rescue and caregiving work. Kudos to them for becoming independent.
Today is the last day for all petfood requests. We have paid out all claims, as pledged.
We strongly advise all bigtime rescuers to start their own society to sustain their rescue and caregiving work. Depending on charitable organisations to fund their massive and extensive rescue and caregiving work may not be feasible nor sustainable in the long run.
Last but not least, we wish to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all donors and supporters for making it possible for us to help so many applicants and the animals under their care.
Our Medical Fund is ongoing…thanks to all of you!
There will be no AnimalCare without your kindness and generosity.
Thank you very much.
