For anybody not familiar with Hero, the original story here. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.618359681539104.1073742368.108625789179165&type=1
Hero along with some other dogs have been moved to larger individual kennels following detection of a case of distemper in the clinic. These dogs are as yet unprotected and very vulnerable to catching what is generally a fatal disease. He has stopped coughing and is much stronger. For other than vets it may well be difficult for people to spot the improvement in the slash wounds such as those on his legs but if you study closely you will see granulation taking place. Granulation for those that do not know is defined here. The use of honey stimulates granulation. It is not possible and in fact dangerous to suture wounds like this unless caught immediately.
Granulation tissue is new connective tissue and tiny blood vessels that form on the surfaces of a wound during the healing process. Granulation tissue typically grows from the base of a wound and is able to fill wounds of almost any size it heals.
To help Hero and the many others like him please join our sponsorship programme. For less than 1$ a day you can be a hero too.
