For anybody not familiar with the story of Hero please see https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.618359681539104.1073742368.108625789179165&type=3
It is now 5 days since Hero came to the SDF shelter and we can already start to see improvements. His ribs are no longer as pronounced and many of the smaller puncture wounds are already healing well.
Best of all though is his demeanour. He is alert and a can be seen on these photos very relaxed when receiving treatment which is needed twice daily. There is even a hint of a smile there ?
We are very optimistic though the big test will be tomorrow when he has his blood rechecked which will indicate whether or not the septicemia which is our biggest concern has improved. Some people have enquired why the large wounds are not being sutured. It is not good to suture old wounds and anybody wishing to see much worse wounds than this before and after can e mail us, as they are too graphic to post on facebook as are the other wounds on Hero’s left side.
To everybody who has offered to sponsor Hero please do visit our website and consider sponsoring any of the dogs there, as it is your sponsorships that enable us to care for dogs like Hero as well as all the dogs and cats currently receiving treatment or living at the shelter, (over 400). We cannot offer him for sponsorship yet as don’t want to tempt fate and in our opinion is wrong to offer a dog for sponsorship until we are sure of the outcome. Thank you for your support which makes all this possible.
