A Kind Donation From Chodak Lhakyis Fosterer, Megaa Velayuthan, And Her Friends

Megaa has kindly consented for us to share this piece of good news with everyone. We thank Megaa (the fosterer who was initially anonymous) for caring for Chodak Lhakyi and for raising funds from her circle of friends to pay for Lhakyi’s surgery. Megaa has most graciously donated a portion of the excess funds raised to us to help other needy animals.

Thank you very much, Megaa and all donors.

Today is indeed a day of good news! First, we have Koo’s good news on the mixed poodle, then Ms Ooi’s good news on the 2 surviving kittens and now, Chodak Lhakyi’s good news!

It is possible to work together with each individual chipping in whatever we can. After all, all of us work very hard for the animals, and working together makes the journey more meaningful and a little lighter.

Dear Dr. Chan,
As I mentioned earlier, we have raised more than enough to cover Lhakyi’s surgery costs. Now the surgery is over, we have some excess fund and would like to donate a portion of it to MyAnimalCare on behalf of Lhakyi for other unfortunate kitties like him. keeping a portion for his follow up vet visits and ongoing treatment (if required)
We also would like to thank MyAnimalcare, on behalf of Angeline and Lhakyi for the medical subsidy that was offered to cover his first medical bill.
Attached is the transfer slip. It’s an instant transfer so it should be in immediately.I have also attached a video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yWIMd4mbS0&feature=youtu.be)of Lhakyi being active, right after we came home from the vets yesterday.
Thank you.
Cheers
Megaa

Please watch the video – you’d see a very happy three-legged kitten! I remember my vet telling me last time never to anthropomorphise animals. We humans may be utterly depressed at losing a limb, but for the animals, they may be very glad to be rid of the problem and losing one limb isn’t so bad for a four-legged animal. But the important thing, according to my vet, is to amputate as high as possible so that there is no stump left to be used as this could lead to more problems and infection may set in. The animal will learn to live with 3 limbs. And unlike us, they have no time to be depressed. They are just happy to feel well again and they will live life to the fullest, as testified by little Lhakyi here.

Take a look at happy little Lhakyi. He is indeed a very happy kitty now!
