Nandhini offered to foster the 5 kittens that were dumped in front of my gate in a styrofoam box 2 weeks ago.
I've been in contact with Nandhini daily on their progress after they were discharged from the vet's. Initially, they all had diarrhoea (really watery type) and the flu. After the vet declared them to be "well enough", he advised that they should be taken out of the clinic environment as soon as possible.
So, Nandhini brought them home. This would be Nandhini's first time fostering kittens and she is doing a superb job.
Over the weekend, one of them, whom we christened "Mulan" had blood in her stools, Nandhini brought Mulan on a Sunday all the way to a vet's in Petaling Jaya (which opens on Sundays). Mulan was dewormed again and given antibiotics.
Then, another had blood in the stools as well, and Nandhini brought all four to our panel vet after work at night. All four were dewormed and given medicine since they all live together and whatever one has would probably spread, especially if it's airborne.
Nandhini texted last night to say all are well now and in fact, they have become very well-behaved. Previously, they were a little rambunctious! Why, last night, after 3 hours' of playtime, when Nandhini said, "Okay, time's up!", one of them actually walked back into the cage all by herself!
Aww....doesn't this remind me of Rex, the eldest Sunny Kitten? So well-behaved and adorable.
Here's Nandhini's account:
Hi Kah Yein Its been a week now since I have fostering the 5 little kittens. Have learnt so much in this week. I no longer find bloody stool which is a good sign. They eat very well and play as well. Attached are their photos. They might not look cute on the photos but they are simply adorable.. They only poo and pee in the sand box.. have learnt how to eat in their own bowls:) Do visit us one of these days... These are their names. And I can tell them apart now! Black - Long Tail: Mulan -Crooked Tail: Penny Ginger - Short Tail: Bambi - Long Tail: Leah - Long Tail (white neck): Lilo The entire gang I call them popsicles... as they have lots of poopie presents for me everyday:) Regards Nandhini
