Happy Deepavali to all friends of the SPCA!
Dear friends at SPCA.
Happy Dipawali Happy Tihar!!!
With this mail I want to share you about Nepali culture in relation to importance of DOG in human life.
DIPAWALI that is called TIHAR in Nepal, is celebrated for five days beginning today. The culture recognizes the importance of bird, dog, cow, self and brotherhood/sisterhood.
Tomorrow will be KUKUR PUJA, a day to worship, respect and value DOGs in our life. The picture attached is ceremony where the public and officials recognize the importance of dog on the day of Kukur Puja. Children and adults enjoy the day believing that DOGs protect us. Garlanding DOGs with marigold flower and offering food they like the most is the way people show their love to DOG on Kukur Tihar.
Happy KUKUR (DOG) TIHAR.
With regards,
Pranita from Nepal.
