Hi Dr Chan,
I emailed you earlier this year regarding kittens up for adoption. Since there were no takers, I decided to just care for them but unfortunately my other neighbours have also started to complain about them. There are claims that these cats gave fleas to the neighbour’s dog and now one of the neighbour’s house is also infested with fleas. I’m pretty sure my cats don’t have fleas as I have de-flead them. But one of my neighbour is insistent that I send them away.
I have already put up a post on Petfinder (http://www.petfinder.my/pets/37567/) but I would appreciate if you could put up a post about them on your blog as well. I’m trying out all the avenues that I can. I fear that if I can’t find any adopters for them, I would have to send them to an animal shelter where they might be put down.

About the cats

Izzy (female) is quite loveable; she always greets me when she sees me. She used to be quite naughty as a kitten; always got into scrapes which usually required my intervention. Goldie and Midnight (both male) are loveable too but ever since I took Goldie to the vet for mange treatment, the two of them have been avoiding me! Star (female) is a bit more of a loner but she does appreciate a good rub once in a while.

Further info

oThese cats have been de-wormed, de-flead, vaccinated and spayed. They are 1+ years old.

oThey are litter trained but because they’re outdoor cats, sometimes they do poo wherever else there is soil.

oWhen adopting new cats, you need to keep them confined for one week (or they will run away). Since these cats are outdoor cats, their period of adjustment to life indoors may be a bit more challenging than the average cat but I do believe that if you are patient and give them the chance to adapt, they will make good pets. One tip is to put fragile/breakable things away.

If you know anyone responsible and committed who would adopt any one of these furkids, please let them know.

Please note that potential adopters will be screened.
