Taking Tabs To See A 4th Vet Today

It is 5am now and there is still no defecation from Tabs.

I gave the pumpkin last night. It did not work.

I also consulted the 2nd vet who did the X-Ray again and he said that though there is faecal matter in her intestines, she was not constipated yet, so it did not warrant an enema. He said to give it about 3 more days, and if there is no improvement, Tabs may have to be put on drips. He also suggested an esophagal feeding tube (inserted through the neck) to ensure she gets enough food but that sounds very stressful. I didn’t think it was necessary since I am able to force-feed her. And what if the problem is not in the eating, but at the intestines?

The 3rd vet said it may not be hairball but something called “sentinel loops” which requires surgery and should not be delayed, but the vet is going on leave today for a few days, so he could not do the surgery as he did not want to leave his patient after the surgery. Which leaves me to look for a 4th vet this morning who is able to do the surgery should it be warranted. It is all so scary and worrying. Meanwhile Tabs is obediently eating whatever I force-feed her without putting up a fight. There is still no defecation as of this morning.

We’ll be taking her to the 4th vet the moment he opens this morning. The problem is that whatever the X-Ray shows isn’t conclusive. The vet would have to palpate her again today, and it all depends on the what the vet feels (concluded from the X-Ray and the palpation) is the best thing to do. All four vets are experienced.

I even consulted Dr Susanna yesterday if acupuncture might help, but she says acupuncture cannot help at all in such cases and that I must refer her to a conventional vet, which I already have.

I hope the 4th vet will be able to solve the problem once and for all.

Meanwhile, I am thankful that Connie is helping me man the booth at PWTC today. I hope Lester can help too, or she would be all alone.
