THANK YOU ALL for sending donations to help in Romania. Cristina as the St. Francis animal shelter writes about how the food will help and how they are trying to recover from a tornado:

“We received your $1000 in the shelter’s paypal account.

Was a huge surprise which will feed the dogs in October. I did an order of 2000 kg dry food for adult dogs. The food will arrive in shelter Saturday. In my town nobody’s helping, they just throw pups on out gate.

We have rescued around 50 adult strays and got 38 pups which were supposed to be killed in few days as in Romania the law of killing strays was signed on 25 September. Here there is horror, a murder on streets, dogs are killed or badly hurt. I will die of sorrow..

Our shelter has now 350 animals (28 cats, almost sick). And strays will come more. Our problems will be each month the donation for food and vet expenses. We have built 8 new pens for the newly arrived dogs and were prepared with materials to cover 2 large pens of pups. But 2 days ago a raining windy storm, a tornado put 3 pens down, the roofs from steel tables and timber were destroyed and blown into a field like a piece of sheet. The dogs are standing in rain until we will rebuilt the pens and secure from wind, rain. Weather is getting worse, cold rain at 2 Celsius degree, winter.. in October.”
