These little ones sure would be happy and life would be easier for rescue Danica Djurkovic in Serbia if only cat food grew on trees. This photo was taken last month, when the cats had enough to eat, but things took a turn for the worse recently when funds ran out.l

“I’m desperate,” Danica told us today. “For two days, the cats and dogs here eat only bread and soup. They are hungry.”

We sent over money to buy food for a few weeks. They’ll have their kibble again now thanks to our wonderful supporters and we’ll continue to keep an eye on the situation.

However, we have a double-header today and have just received a second emergency request for dog food for the FRIEND shelter in Ukraine where snow has already fallen, cutting the shelter off from the outside world for the last couple days. It’s so important to stock up on supplies for these winter storms so that the animals have food when the road is impassible. You, all of you reading this, are the best thing to ever happen to FRIEND shelter. Last year you bought the land for them to relocate, and now, with your help, we’ll get the food in as well!
