Eat Like The Greeks To Stay Sharp In Old Age

The Greeks adopt the Meditarranean diet which comprises mostly fruit and vegetables, nuts, fish and olive oil. So do the Okinawans, who are often reputed to be the longest-living people in the world.
In short, they are pescetarians (vegetarians who eat fish).

Still, there may be these points to consider:
1. We are not Greeks or Okinawans and we live a different lifestyle in a different climate.
2. But we are still biologically quite similar (meaning we, the human species). So, will this diet work for us?
3. Where does our fish come from?
4. What is the level of toxins and contaminants in the fish that we buy?
5. Does the fish also suffer as much as the other animals in the slaughterhouses? I’m sure it does.
But all said, if this diet works for us, it’s good, because it is in sync with eating less meat!

I am often reminded of my own folly in taking oats “religiously” in my early thirties thinking that it would be good for me and little did I know that it caused bipolar symptoms to arise in me, resulting in severe depression attacks for more than a decade.
I was allergic to oats! Now, who would have guessed that? If not for sheer mental strength, that allergy could have cost me my life several times over.
So, please be very careful when you embark on a change of diet.
