WINDSURFERS SAVE DOG 3 MILES OUT IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY
Today we applaud a group of windsurfers who took fast action when they came upon a black Labrador mix paddling frantically in the San Francisco bay a full 3 miles from the Berkeley shoreline!
Windsurfer Ed Coyne was able to grab hold of her in the water and lift her onto his board while others got the attention of a passing commuter boat driven by Adam Cohen of North Berkeley. The dog has been seen by a veterinarian and checked for a microchip without success. She is now recovering and if the dog’s family continues to remain untraceable, the lucky pup will have no shortage of potential adopters. She’s going to be just fine thanks to the guys being in the right place at the right time.
