Our Reader Extends Help To Pak Din!
As reported earlier, due to a sudden increase of applicants for our Food Fund, we are in the midst of reviewing all applications and this includes obtaining updated information from our previous recipients.
We look at the applicant’s age, ability to work, monthly income and more importantly, if the animals under his/her care are neutered and medically cared for when sick. We also look at the number of animals rehomed but in this respect, we understand that it may be very difficult to rehome street animals, especially the adults. But we appreciate the fact that attempts have been made at rehoming the animals (through PetFinder.my or other means).
For Pak Din’s case, we were informed yesterday that he now only has 6 cats and 5 dogs. Due to this small number, we will not be able to provide petfood sponsorship for his animals anymore.
This is our last petfood sponsorship for Pak Din’s animals:http://myanimalcare.org/2013/08/28/petfood-for-pak-dins-community-animals/
Bur fear not, as one of our readers will take up the task of providing petfood for Pak Din from now on. She has offered to provide petfood on a regular basis to Pak Din’s (current) 11 animals, and this also includes vitamins and other supplements. She has also offered to take care of the medical bills of Pak Din’s animals but Pak Din is still welcome to apply to our Medical Fund.
It is just that we have stricter criteria for the Food Fund because petfood sponsorship involves a bigger sum of money.
Mr Chew has already been informed about this.
We are very grateful that our reader has stepped in to help. Thank you so much!
