Its Been A Roller Coaster.but, What Goes Down Must Come Up!

Ever since Monday, you’d notice there hasn’t been any story about my inside and outside brood. That’s because somehow, the stars were terribly misaligned for me (!) and Murphy’s Law has been creating havoc in my life! No details needed…I will spare you the agony of reading them.
But the show must go on, so AnimalCare went on and you only read about the subsidies that we paid out.
As for the brood, well, Willy had been missing in action ever since that evening after I gave him a good cleaning of his buttocks. I’ve cycled round to look for him but in vain. Every morning and evening, I would go out to look for him, but the playground is completely empty.
Yes, even my pink bicycle failed to bring me luck this time. So I figured it must be the stars at work, or maybe it’s the Hungry Ghost Festival….you’ll never know.
(Please take the above with a pinch of salt! I’m just saying…)
But even when all things go wrong, we need to be thankful that there is no earthquake, tsunami, a world war or a new flesh-eating virus devouring every species on earth, so….we must still be thankful for things that are going right.
For example:
Titan Indy sharing a mat with Mandela Tiger is an occasion for celebration!
(That was because it was cold that day, but still….)
Mr Zurik has been making himself totally at home inside the house, and rubs himself all over my legs at every available opportunity.
I should be thankful he doesn’t bite me or anyone else. He’s actually quite sweet.
Also, thankful that Indy only smells my legs and nibble on me, not bite me real hard until a tetanus jab is needed.
This is a midday snack, called upon by Mr Zurik.
He is always hungry and yes, he’s been dewormed, but I think he has the “stray syndrome” that Timmy used to display. In fact, he is so hungry (every time) that he practically snatches the food off my hands. And he is super strong. KGB-trained, you know… They can withstand the harsh Siberian winters, so this is nothing to them.
It looks like Mr Zurik has adopted our house.
Well, as long as he doesn’t fight with the rest, we don’t mind.
But every day, he will still lock horns with Vincent. Sigh…
Perhaps Ginger is the mildest of the lot.
This morning, I looked for Willy as usual, half-expecting to see an orange furball at the culvert, but no…he wasn’t there. As I drove to work, I thought I’d better stop waiting for him every day. Maybe, Willy IS from a parallel universe and he had come for a reason. Now that that reason is no longer a reason, he has gone back?
Or, if you prefer an earthly reason, maybe his owner has taken him back and confined him, or has brought him back to the kampung for good? If so, that should be good, right?
In any case, there is no point in trying to find a reason. What is…is. We’ll just accept things as they arise, do our best to help (if possible) and leave things be.
And life goes on…
So I was in class this morning, as usual, but suddenly, I received a whatsapp text from my husband. It said “image”.
I knew…this could only be one thing….
Here is the image:
Willy’s back!!!!!!!
Gosh, Willy’s back!! Did I hear the brass band play and the cymbals crash?!!
Willy!!!
I texted back, “Give more food, give more food!”
Who knows, after coming back from a mission, a special agent must be famished, right?
My husband texted to say he had to keep Mr Zurik at bay so that Willy could eat.
Now, where was Mr Zurik?
Here.
As mischievous as he is, I’m sure you must agree that Mr Zurik looks really cute in this photo!
Apparently, Mr Zurik was with his Shrew Squad, mounting an attack on Willy.
Daffodil stood guard (to prevent Mr Zurik from coming out from the drain)!
While Heidi awaits her taiqi lesson at the basketball court.
Lesson?? What lesson? Heidi is the grandmaster. She is observing to make sure my husband gets all his strokes right.
So, as I was saying, life is like a roller coaster ride. When things go so terribly wrong, just be thankful for whatever little things that are going right at that time (like no earthquake, no flesh-eating virus, etc.) and we can even hope that “what goes down must come up”, so we may soon see the proverbial sunshine and blue skies again.
Which I did today – with the return of Willy. Hooray!
AND….here’s even better news. We found an adopter for Trish Neoh’s two kittens!! We must first thank Maslinda for offering to foster the kittens and look for an adopter, but there is no need for that now, as DT, our dear friend, will adopt both the kittens!
Tell me, if that’s not great, what is?
I’m dancing on a cloud!
