We have subsidised RM20 for Ginger’s treatment and RM42.50 from the 3 stray kittens. This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM22.50) and Berjaya Cares (RM40).

Dear Dr. Chan,
As I was doing my once a year duty of feeding the strays at the warongs around my neighborhood (lots of these places are closed due to Hari Raya), I came across this Ginger Stray as I we named him. He is quite young and stands very little chance of getting the food among the rest of the adults. I took him home and found out that he had diarrhea. I sent him to the vet this morning and he was dewormed. From the stool sample, the vet found that he has worms. May I please claim a medical subsidy for this case?
On a separate note, during the feeding, we also found 3 kittens at a warong very close to the main road. There were 4 kittens and the mummy was there too. I wanted to take them home for the purpose of putting them up for adoption. However, 1 of the kittens was very scared and ran inside a hole somewhere. Not wanting to endanger their lives, I took the 3 kittens and left the mummy so she can take care of the other one. The kittens are around 5-6 weeks old. They can eat wet food already. I plan to get the warung people (when they open, hopefully Monday) to catch the other kitten and the mummy so I can put them up for adoption.
I will mail the receipt on Monday if you would allow me to apply for the medical subsidy. Thanks so much!
Ely

Dear Dr. Chan,
Last 2 nights, one of the stray kittens that I mentioned in my earlier email vomited worms. I thought I could wait until I catch their mum and the other one at the warung and deworm the mum and the kittens will get the benefit from her milk. But unfortunately, I could not wait. I took all of them (I managed to get 3) to the vet today as the vet was closed yesterday. They also have diarrhea. So the vet did a stool specimen and gave them some antibiotics. Could I apply for the medical subsidy?
I visited the warung again today and it is still not opened yet. I left some food for the cats there. My plan is to get the owner to catch the kitten and mum and I will spay the mum and try to put the kittens up for adoption. I enclosed a photo (above) of the 3.
Appreciate your reply. Thanks!
Ely
