We Ask For Transparency And Accountability, Please

Lately, we’ve had applications for subsidy from individuals who

(1) Work with other individuals to do rescue and caregiving work.

(2) Claim on behalf of someone else who is not internet-savvy.

For (1): We totally understand that individual rescuers do require the help of other rescuers to do their work (capture, transport, etc.), and yet you do not belong to any organisation or established group and you may not have your own funds. In such cases, we require you to reveal the full names of all your team members, please. We ask for total accountability since you are requesting for funds and our donors need to know who the recipients of our funds are.

For (2): You may write on behalf of a non-internet-savvy person, but please ensure that the receipt and bank account is in the rescuer’s name (not yours) and that the applicant is still the rescuer. You will only be helping to write the emails and fill up the form. Please ensure that the rescuer signs the form and we need his or her phone contact as we will be calling up to speak with him or her.

We ask for your cooperation to be transparent in your claims or the claims that you make on behalf of your group or your friend. This transparency is paramount to preserving the integrity and credibility of animal welfare.

We will not be able to entertain applicants who wish to claim a subsidy but do not want their names revealed in the blogpost. Our donors need to be informed who the recipients of the funds are. It’s courtesy. And accountability.

Thank you for your kind cooperation.

How to apply for a subsidy:

1. Email us at chankahyein@gmail.com with your full name, a jpeg photograph of your animal and a short write-up of the case and what help is required.
2. Choose your own vet for the procedure, get it done, pay the vet and get an itemised receipt (procedures done to be stated clearly). Ensure that all items are legible on the receipt and that the receipt is issued in your name.
3. Email another latest jpeg photograph of the animal, taken after the procedure. Please tell us how the animal is after the procedure and provide the contact details of your vet.
4. Post the original receipt and the duly filled form to the given address. The bank account on the form must be in your name.
All claims must reach us NO LATER THAN 2 WEEKS from the date on the receipt.

Ordinary mail takes about 5 days to arrive; Pos Ekspres takes 2 days. PLEASE DO NOT USE POSLAJU OR COURIER.

Reminder: The receipts and bank account must be in the applicant’s name. Our funds are only open to street animals (not pets) and only to needy and responsible INDIVIDUAL caregivers (not organisations/groups/shelters or their key members or those who have means to raise their own funds). If you are working with other individuals, please reveal the names of all the members of your group.
