Dear Dr. Chan,
REQUEST FOR MEDICAL SUBSIDY FOR LACEY
Yesterday evening, I found one of the stray dogs, Lacey (which had been spayed in Sept.12) didn’t look well. There was dark liquid stool near her.
I took her to the vet and he did some blood tests and put her on drips.
Later in the evening he called to inform me that the dog has consumed poison.
I do sincerely hope Animal Care can help to bear part of the medical fees of Lacey, ( as am just depending on my meagre pension to care for the puppies and strays).
Hoping for a favourable reply,
Yours sincerely,
Ang Ooi Bee (Amy)

Dear Dr. Chan,
Thank you for your prompt reply. Am sorry for taking a while to respond as my PC gave me problems.
This afternoon I went to see Lacey but I forgot to bring my camera along. I force-fed her some food. Night time she’s on drips. Tomorrow am going to give her some chicken essence to boost her strength. According to the vet, her liver reading is still not good. I do hope she can recover soon.
I shall update you with Lacey’s recent photo and progress.

Dear Dr. Chan,
It has been a week since Lacey was admitted to the clinic. Three liver function tests have been done. According to the vet, all the readings are the same…not good but he is very puzzled why Lacey is still up and about . According to him, if the reading is as shown, by right, Lacey should be incapable of getting up and by the 3rd reading, Lacey should be lying down all the time. It has been a week and physically she still looks alright..only she has shrunken in size as she doesn’t want to eat. She has stopped passing out black urine and faeces. The vet gives her injections for the liver daily.
I am taking her to another clinic in Klang to-day as travelling to Putra Heights everyday to feed her is very physically taxing for me. I have discussed Lacey’s case with the young vet in Klang. She will do kidney and liver functions tests…I do hope the poor readings of the liver in the first vet are wrong….may be machine malfunction.
Later, I shall update you further of Lacey’s progress.
Thanks,
Best Regards…..Have a nice day!
Thank You,
Yours sincerely,
Ang Ooi Bee (Amy)

Dear Dr.Chan,
Time flies…it is already 2 weeks since I last updated you about Lacey.
That night when I took her back from the first vet, I intended to admit her in the 2nd vet in Klang. I waited for quite some time but the doctor did not return to the clinic( although she told me she would be back in half an hours’ time).. I took Lacey home and thought that it might be better for Lacey. Perhaps it was too soon to do another kidney and liver test.
Lacey seems to be happier in familiar surroundings… Sometimes she eats a little bit by herself but most of the time I force-feed her. I feed her vitamin from the tube, chicken essence and milk thistle tablets. She looks alright now but I have not been able to check her stools.
This coming Friday, I will take her to the clinic to do the kidney and liver test. I do hope everything is fine with her.
Thanks…have a nice day!
Sincerely,
Amy

Last week,Monday, I was supposed to do the kidney and liver test for Lacey but unfortunately, the test strips were finished and the doctor had to wait for the supply which came only on Thursday evening.
According to the vet, Lacey’s liver is normal but her kidney is slightly damaged. She prescribed some medication for the injured kidney.
On Tuesday, I went to another vet and asked whether the liver could be normal in 2 week’s time and why I was not told about the kidney injury. This vet said that the liver could not be normal so soon and that Lacey’s kidney was alright when he did the test….now who to believe…I am confused….but who cares…Lacey is running around and she looks alright to me!
Dr. I have completed and sent the required form for medical subsidy together with the bills.
Thanking you in anticipation,
Yours sincerely,
Ang Ooi Bee (Amy)
