At ACRES, we do our level best to ensure the optimal welfare of our animals and what better way than by providing our rescued Indian star tortoises with enrichment. In the wild, Indian star tortoises will have to negotiate different terrain and obstacles to find food and shelter. This enrichment aims to encourage the tortoises to use their senses to negotiate a maze to find food.

The cardboard mazes were made by students from the English medium school from Tasikoki. The application and video editing of the enrichment was done by our beloved Wildlife guardian, Rushan.

*Do note that there is an unintentional mistake in referring to the Tortoises as Turtles in the video. They are all Indian star tortoises.
