Help For Jaclyns Kitten

Ref: http://myanimalcare.org/2013/06/09/adopter-needed-for-a-very-weak-kitten-jaclyn-lim-chooi-lis/

We received the following help for Jaclyn’s kitten, but Jaclyn could not be contacted. I have forwarded the email to her too. Hopefully, it is not too late.

From a reader, Punitha Paranjothi:

Have tried calling Jaclyn’s number but no one picked up. Texted her too.
I’ve successfully treated near death cats like hers before and it only takes specific medication (VibraVet paste) and Hills A/D Critical Care (high-calorie) canned food (fed three times a day with 10ml of water force-fed after) to help the cat regain it’s strength. NO milk of any sort. Improvement takes 2 – 3 days to show.
Read that she’s located in Puchong, it’ll be easy for me to guide her or even follow her to get the necessary items. The flu needs to be tackled (first) as the kitten’s not going to want to eat until her smell-senses are clear. This antibiotic paste has worked wonders with my foster/rescue cats (attached a picture of the med). Not many vets carry it, but I know one who does.
If she happens to contact you, do ask her (if she’s interested) to get back to me? It’ll be a shame if the kitten doesn’t make it, as holding on for 3 days already shows just how strong-willed she is to survive.

Our disclaimer holds.

We thank Punitha very much for her sharing and offer to help.

Meanwhile, Jaclyn still needs an adopter for the kitten. If you are able to help, please contact Jaclyn directly at0123767603 orjaclyn.lim@gmail.com.

I had called the Punitha but she wanted me to bring the kitten to her vet which I feel it is not necessary to incur the additional expenses when I am already low on cash.

The vet I brought the kitten to had prescribed a can of Hills A/D feline food plus a bottle of antibiotic which will helps in getting rid of her flu and diarrhea and I just bought a pack of glucose powder and had dilute it with water.

The kitten seems getting stronger and in fact, she wags her tail when I came into her room.

I was hoping Punitha can take her in but she can’t. Too bad. But it was kind of her to offer advise though.

Will keep you informed if kitten is better or weaker.

Thanks and regards

We have offered our subsidy right from the start, and now, we have told Jaclyn not to worry about funds. If she needs more, we already have a sponsor to top up the subsidy. What is important is to help the kitten and give her the best possible treatment. We shall respect Jaclyn’s decision as she is nursing the kitten and since the kitten has improved, we hope the kitten is on the way to recovery. We are ever ready to help with funds.
