Emergency Work Continues For Rescued Dogs

The second emergency veterinarian relief team arrived at the Nakhon Phanom shelter yesterday.

After meeting with Dr. Thanet and Dr. Bo of the Nakhon Phanom shelter (pictured) it was agreed that the best course of action is to quarantine as best as possible under the circumstances dogs carrying distemper and parvo virus from healthy dogs.

In the interest of saving as many dogs as possible the Nakhon Phanom vets will concentrate on treating sick dogs and the 2 teams from overseas will focus on vaccinating the healthy dogs.

There are now well over 5000 dogs rescued from the dog meat trade across the 4 shelters. The costs of caring for these dogs is enormous. Additional details at: http://www.soidog.org/en/newsletter-sign-up/past-newsletters/29-05-2013/
