India Bans Dolphin Performing Dolphin Shows

There will be no more dolphin shows in India thanks to a new ruling by India’s Ministry of Environments and Forests which will no longer condone the behind-the-scenes cruelty that goes into ‘training’ dolphins to perform.

India has decided that dolphin pods are not to be hunted down in the ocean or bred in captivity for the purpose of making them into clowns for human amusement. Instead dolphins are to be appreciated for the intelligent and emotional species they are and observed only in their natural setting. The agency arrived at this decision after a longstanding look behind the illusion of “smiling” happy dolphins and has formed its policy based on the evidence of intense emotional and physical suffering and mortality of captive dolphins. http://now.msn.com/india-bans-dolphin-shows-says-making-the-animals-perform-is-morally-wrong#scpshrjwfbs

Animal Rescue Chase

The Great Animal Rescue Chase celebrates the art of animal rescue with a worldwide race to rescue one million. It’s a free event, open to all, and is perhaps the only global animal rescue event aimed at helping any animal in distress, anywhere in the world. Our ambition is to create a culture of enthusiasm and pride in animal activism. We believe in teaching, by example, that there is a hero in each of us just waiting to be unleashed. Empowered animal lovers can not only save lives, but build the momentum for powerful animal welfare reform.
