GG, Alone & Blind Abandoned On Streets
Tweet |
Many people have recently read about GG the poor soul who was found wandering the street blind by Khun Nok of Soi Dog. Several people have written asking if they can sponsor GG. For those wishing to sponsor GG or one of the other hundreds of dogs in Soi Dogs care you can do so here: https://www.soidog.org/en/sponsor-a-dog-or-cat/
Members of Soi Dogs Sponsors Club are some of the dogs most important supporters as they provide the needed funding for the care of all the dogs at the shelter.
GGs story for those of you who have not read it:
GG was picked up a few days ago by Khun Nok one of Soi Dogs Animal Rescue Officers while returning to the shelter from a mobile sterilization clinic on the south of Phuket island. Residents in the area where GG had been found told Nok that GGs owners had set GG on the streets due to his blindness. They no longer wanted him and GG now had no home. How can anyone be so callous as to dump such a sweet boy on the street, unable to see?
Khun Nok found him bumping into things and when Khun Nok first arrived GG was nearly hit by a car which fortunately swerved at the last minute. He was covered in ticks & fleas, also flea eggs with his coat totally matted.
Khun Nok rushed GG to Soi Dogs clinic and you could literally sense GGs sense of relief when he found himself again with human companionship. Our vets immediately set about treating him, removing the severely matted fur and literally dozens of ticks.
GGs eyes were filled with discharge, sealed shut and obviously seriously infected. The vets spent several hours carefully removing the discharge from his eyes and treating the infection. We arent sure yet as to the long term outcome with his vision but hopefully will not be left completely blind.
We will keep you posted on GGs progress
