At The Kiwanis Food For Thought Event Today

Connie and I arrived at the Kelab Golf Sultan Abd Aziz Shah at about 10.50pm this morning and Kiwanis’ exco member, Grace Tan, guided us to our booth.
Here we are…
Connie, me and Shirley Sobey.
We would like to thank Shirley very much for inviting us, and also to Grace and Kiwanis Klang.
Soon, the children started arriving. It was Kiwanis Klang’s annual luncheon.
More children and parents arriving.
Kiwanis was selling bags and their tshirts too.
I was particularly drawn to a joint Kiwanis-UNICEF project where for a RM6 donation, we could help prevent mothers and their unborn babies in underdeveloped countries from contracting tetanus. We are so privileged living in our country, enjoying good healthcare that we may not be aware of how much suffering goes on in other countries where even the most basic healthcare is not available due to poverty and lack of education.
There was also a blood donation drive upstairs, organised in conjunction with this event.
Two of our smaller TY soft toys “found homes”.
TY toys, anyone? We still have the above.
Our soap went like hot cakes and it’s all thanks to those who have bought it at our previous event coming back to buy more and to sing praises of the soap – thank you so much! I must say, of all our products, soap is the most practical and usable. I mean, who doesn’t use soap, right? And our soap is so affordable. For just RM5, you get a piece of good quality soap which washes you from head to toe AND you sleep easy at night knowing that your soap has not been tested on animals.
It was very heartening to note that many buyers actually bought after we explained that our products are not tested on animals. That’s really nice to know – that they are buying for the right (and best) reason. Our Kiwanis friends brought visitors over to just introduce our soap to them!
We had young people, especially students from a Klang school who had come to volunteer for Kiwanis, coming to get our books.
We were really happy to be able to explain our cause and services to many visitors, especially those who had never heard about us before.
By the end of the event, we almost sold out on our soap!
For the first time, soap outsold our popular keychains this time!
By 4.30pm, the event drew to the close.
We wish to thank Kiwanis Klang for letting us be part of their Food for Thought event today.
We had a most wonderful and meaningful time.
