We visited last week and we were also not happy regarding the lack of shelter.

Soi Dog staff visited the Burriram shelter last week where some of the thousands of dogs rescued from the illegal dog meat trade are housed. With arrests of smugglers the Department of Livestock is improving this shelter as a matter of urgency as other shelters where the dogs are housed are well above capacity.

On the visit the dogs currently there were all trying to huddle under a couple of small inadequate shelters as concrete red hot and they get soaked when it rains often leading to pneumonia.

Thanks to Soi Dog�s supporters a welding machine and steel roofing has been purchased to help provide more shelters at a cost of nearly 100,000thb. ($3,300)
