Sobs�was It A Cobra?

There are no photos in this post, so you can read on without fear. Yesterday, we found a dead (already hardened) snake carcass in the patio. We figured the cats must have brought it in as a “food offering”:�http://myanimalcare.org/2013/03/21/34752/

So far, three sources have identified it to be most likely a cobra. One source said it may even be a python.

Sobs…

Come to think of it, the bigger one (on Chinese New Year 1st day) was brown and all three smaller ones were black. That sounds like the characteristics of the King Cobra. More deadly than ordinary cobras (which are already very deadly).

I alerted my neighbourhood again and this time, a few neighbours responded saying they too have encountered snakes in their compounds.

Looks like there may be a nest in the neighbourhood and each time we encountered a slithery one, it was always when the council gardeners had come to cut the grass. The vibration must have disturbed their hibernation.

We’re trying to get the Wildlife Dept to do an inspection of the area. I hope they can help. I only requested that the nest and snake(s) be relocated to a more natural and safer habitat for them (and safer for us too).

Meanwhile, if you know of any ways to prevent/deter snakes from coming in, kindly share, please? I need to protect the cats and ourselves.
