4 Ways To Help Animals
Tweet |
I thought this article is so simple and straight to the point:http://www.care2.com/causes/4-ways-to-help-homeless-cats.html(it applies to dogs too!)
In summary:
1. Neuter your own pets.
2. Adopt pets, don’t buy.
3. Support sources that neuter at a low cost.
4. Support TNR programmes.
With the revised RM150 subsidy for the neutering of street dogs (for cats, it stays at RM100), we are now hoping to reach out further and wider to animal caregivers all over Malaysia to get them to participate actively in CNRM. The extra RM50 for dogs is to cater for the higher cost of neutering dogs as compared to that for cats. However, this extra RM50 is only for this period until such a time when our extra funds are utilised in which case, we will revise the subsidy rate again.
Our message is this: If you care for the animals, feed them and get them neutered. Even if you cannot rehome them, at least they will not breed anymore and produce more unwanted street animals.
Neuter, neuter, neuter please.
We cannot solely depend on organisations or groups of people to do this for the large population of street animals in our community. We are looking at encouraging more individuals to do it. It doesn’t matter if you only get 1-2 animals neutered. Every bit helps and for every animal that you help get neutered, you have done a great service to him/her and the entire community.
We will subsidise:http://myanimalcare.org/subsidy/
As per our policy, our funds are for individual caregivers. If you are actively doing rescue and caregiving work with a group of friends, we strongly encourage you to register your group and be independent. Having more animal charities out there can actually be a good thing – then animal charity will become a norm rather than an exception and when this happens, we may well be able to garner more support from the community and hopefully, the powers-that-be.
