Carlos The Cuban Slider
Tweet |
Carlos the Cuban slider (a non-native species) has been with us since April 2012, when he was found injured and wandering around the pool area of a condo.
He was probably illegally kept as a pet and then abandoned – like so many others. Luckily, the fractures to his shell were fresh, meaning a better chance of repair.
After we stabilised Carloss condition, we set to work on getting him back to one piece.
Thankfully, Carlos has proved to be a fighter and has healed very well. We still need to clean the old wound sites regularly and monitor his progress, but so far so good!
Carlos was the first Cuban slider rescued by ACRES. Hes since been joined by Markos – another Cuban slider.
View the album to see the progress he has made since we rescued him!
