We contacted the vet who is treating this cat and obtained the following updates: The cat is doing very well and can already stand and walk on her own. No re-stitching is required anymore. Previously, when the IM-pin insertion technique was done, part of the pin had protruded from the skin and the vet was thinking of doing another minor surgery to remove the pin. However, now that the cat is doing very well and the skin has healed completely, the vet feels the surgery is no longer required. The cat is still at the vet’s and the vet has waived all boarding charges.
The initial bill was RM1215 of which we had already subsidised our maximum of RM500. Michelle has paid RM200 on her own but has appealed for more financial help. Our sponsors, Julia & Friends, have contributed another RM200 and this amount has been transferred to Michelle today.
The cat is due to the discharged by the end of this week and we hope Michelle will send us updates. The vet says the cat would need to be confined for just another two weeks. She is healing very well.
Some photos sent by Michelle when she visited the cat over the weekend:
I can stand on my own!
We thank the vet for not giving up on the cat. The initial plan was to amputate the leg, but the vet decided the IM-pin might just be able to safe her leg. The procedure proved to be successful. We also thank the vet for waiving the boarding charges.
