LUCY'S SAD STORY...

Four years ago Lucy was found in the Laguna area of Phuket. A German man found her on the street & brought her to the Soi Dog shelter. She was just a few months old & absolutely terrified! Lucy has been frightened of people her entire life, but we don’t know why. Probably as a result of terrible trauma/abuse when she was very young, something she’s sadly never forgotten.

Despite concerted efforts to socialise Lucy, she still remains very fearful of people, runs away if you try to apprach her & retreats to her corner. She is the most terrified dog we have at the shelter. Lucy seems ok with most other dogs & is happy to lay with them on a sala if she’s in the mood. We’ve also seen her come to the fence for treats on rare occassions!

A dog like Lucy will most likely spend her life here. The shelter is the only home she’s ever known.
