Coming Together For Sabah

The last one week has been a particularly tense period for my family because my daughter, Ming-Yi, is serving in Hospital Kunak, which lies in the now declared “Special Security Zone” in East Sabah. It has been a whole week of keeping a close watch on the news, the internet reports, smses and whatever news that comes from whichever media available.

I wish to thank all friends and readers who have been very supportive. Thank you for your messages of kindness and for forwarding helpful news and updates.

If there is any “good” which has come out of this unfortunate incident, it would be to show, again, that Malaysians do come together in solidarity when our nation and her people are in danger. We know when to put aside all differences and prioritise on the things that really matter.

Whether we have friends and relatives in Sabah or not is irrelevant now. Our fellow Malaysians, and more so, the brave members of our security forces need our prayers and collective positive wishes to keep them safe and well.

We take a break from our animal welfare work and urge all readers to come together for Sabah:http://www.nst.com.my/nation/general/coming-together-for-sabah-1.231248

Please say a prayer for wisdom and peace to prevail as soon as possible.

Flowers for peace and in appreciation to our brave security forces at the frontlines.
