My daughter told me apparently DBKL has taken the doggie away.
Sigh...this is so sad. Someone must have lodged a complaint and DBKL acted.
This shows that there is really no time to lose if we really want to save any animal, especially lost dogs. If we can, take the animal in first so that its safe. But that itself is a huge responsibility, because it means we may end up having to adopt the animal should we fail to find a home for it.
Most of the sanctuaries are bursting at the seams. Some of the shelters have a euthanasia policy so some people are not comfortable with sending their rescues there. I totally understand this.
That really leaves us with no choice but to adopt the animal ourselves should we fail to find it a home later.
And how many can we take in?
It all boils down to having to find a long-term solution to this problem again.
1. CNRM - we need more people to practise this in their neighbourhood to help control the stray population.
2. Education - we need to spread the message of compassion towards animals, that they too have a place on this earth and we must learn to share.
AnimalCare is doing both, so please join us and help spread this message for the sake of the animals.
