Alex came to collect the cat-carrier from me this morning and by afternoon, she had managed to get the cat with mange (whom she now calls "Ginger") into the carrier.
Ginger is a stray who lives on Alex's road.
I met them at the vet's.
The mange is pretty bad. But no worries, it should heal in 3-4 weeks. If you remember, Zhou Zhou's case was much worse off than this.
Ginger kept wanting to go into the carrier.
The face and ears are quite bad.
All caked up in the ears.
Ginger is also all skin and bones. Very malnourished. But she was extremely friendly. The vet thinks she must have been an abandoned pet. She did not behave like a stray at all. Her malnourished state could also be due to the mange as all the itch causes one to lose appetite.
She was very curious and explored all over the room. No signs of nervousness at all.
Time to go home, Ginger. Alex said Ginger did not make any fuss at all while travelling in the car. Alex's mum does not allow any cat into the house, so I suggested that Alex put the carrier in the porch with the door opened and make it comfortable.
Ginger has now made it her "nest"!
Get well soon, Ginger.
Let's see you all pretty again soon.
Three cheers for Alex, for making all the effort to care for Ginger! (I seem to be meeting quite a few young new animal caregivers these few days, what a blessing!)
Ginger's mange treatment is sponsored from our funds.
