Important Safety Notice for Backyard Bird Feeders from Droll Yankees:

“Hi everyone, please pass this along to your friends who may not know – be sure to clean your bird feeders regularly! The Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources is reporting deaths from salmonella in pine siskins, goldfinches and sparrows. It truly is an awful sickness that affects your local birds, as well as humans. We recommend soaking your feeders and accessories in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and hot water, giving them a good scrub with a bird feeder brush, and rinsing/drying thoroughly before filling and re-hanging.”
