Squeaker & Matt - Rescued From The Dog Meat Trade...

Arrived yesterday at Soi Dogs Phuket shelter. Latest 2 dogs from dog meat trade. These are 2 of the around 80 survivors of the nearly 2,000 confiscated from a dog meat traders holding center last January found at Thong Pha Phum livestock shelter. The brown dog is Squeaker and a lucky girl. UK vet nurse Michelle Gunn who was doing volunteer relief work at Thong Pha Phum saw Squeker and on return to UK asked us if we could get her out and send to UK. She has spent some time with Soi Dogs GM Kharn in Bangkok and requires further treatment but should hopefully be going to UK soon.

The second is Matt. Future is very uncertain for this little poodle. Was dying at Thong Pha Phum so was taken to Bangkok and is now with us. Blood profile is normal but he is very weak and has absolutely no muscles left and cannot stand. Will go for x ray today to try and see if some old injury is the cause but remains in critical condition. We hope he survives having survived a year following his rescue.
