So, we wasted no time and took all of Zeezam's five cats to our panel vet so that the little black one, Neko, could be checked.
Apparently, Zeezam had picked up another two siblings of Neko, and both died. Neko is the only survivor from this litter. Their mother did not really look after them too. Poor things...
Little Neko didn't seem so sickly now...
After being examined, it was found that Neko has a lot of worms, so he was dewormed. But Neko also had a slight fever. This could be due to either the worms or a viral infection. The vet advised Zeezam to separate Neko from the rest of his cats. After handling Neko, Zeezam should wash his hands in 1:25 parts of chlorox to water.
If Neko's appetite and general health improves after a few days (a good indicator would be weight gain - he only weighed 500g today), it probably means the worms were the culprit. If not, Zeezam would have to bring Neko to a vet again for an examination.
Whatever it is, Neko would have to be dewormed again in one week's time.
Phew...what a relief that it wasn't that serious....
Time for the kitties to go home now...the whole family!
Bye kitty!
And two more...
And at last...we see the fourth one, hiding. Hi, cutie pie!
Today's vaccinations and treatment for Neko was subsidised from our funds. We shared the bills with Zeezam.
