THE VERY SAD “MR HAT”…

This little guy is 8 months old & one of the saddest little dogs at our shelter. He arrived at 12 weeks of age after being found in the street with a severe leg wound. Sadly the leg was not able to be saved & needed amputation. Mr Hat recovered from his operation well & seemed happy enough in our puppy run. However lately he’s developed a fungal skin condition & this week We found him sitting in a hole in the ground in our puppy run very withdrawn & depressed.

Mr Hat’s fungal skin condition causes flaky skin & hard crusts over his body. Volunteers have started bathing Mr Hat & trying loosen some of the dead skin, cleaning his eyes & give him some much needed love & cuddles. He’s also been moved to our hotel run to recuperate where he can get some rest while his treatment takes affect & not be bothered by other dogs. We’ve also provided him with a soft, cosy bed.

Mr Hat is likely to make a full recovery & we hope one day soon he’ll be ready for adoption. He’s a very sweet little dog & we hope to see him smiling very soon.
