MUNJAI’S STORY…

Please consider joining Soi Dog’s Sponsor’s Club and sponsor a dog like Munjai today: https://soidog.org/en/sponsor-a-dog-or-cat/

Yesterday a car arrived at the shelter with this lovely dog “Munjai” in the front of the car, her back end carefully wrapped in a sarong. She was accompanied by a very kind Thai couple (Khun Phu & Khun Charnchay) who’d driven Munjai to Soi Dog.

Khun Phu & Khun Charnchay had been alerted to this dog by a Thai man (the dog’s feeder) as Munjai was wandering the streets with a deep wound above her tail. It appears to have been cut or stabbed. The wound was swollen & infected & needed emergency care by our vet (Dr Tuk). Dr Tuk cleaned the wound & applied antibiotics & pain relief. Munjai will stay in our clinic whilst the infection clears & her tail may be removed at a later date to aid recovery.

It was a very emotional time for staff & Khun Phu who were all very distressed witnessing the pain suffered by this lovely dog. Munjai seemed to know we were helping her & was very brave while Dr Tuk treated her wound. She was comforted by Khun Phu during treatment & was more than happy to be cuddled.

Munjai will stay here at Soi Dog whilst she recovers.Afterwards we will try to find her a home, but if not she will have a home here at the shelter.
