Meeting Nellie, The Rescued NKVE Dog, Also For Adoption (Mary Yaps)
Our friend who rescued the NKVE dog brought the dog to PAWS for temporary shelter. I drove to PAWS and Mary arrived later.
The dog is a very friendly and happy dog despite her limping front paw. She greeted everyone.
For now, she is called Nellie.
From PAWS, we brought Nellie to the clinic for a check-up.
Here’s Nellie.
Nellie is very, very skinny right now, but with good nutrition, she should look much better soon.
Despite this, she is still a very happy dog!
(Now, that’s something we can all learn from.)
Nellie is female, estimated to be about 1 year old, has probably given birth once.
She was found with a collar, so she is probably a pet.
If by any chance, she is your lost pet, please contact Mary at 012-3282260.
At the clinic, Nellie was incredibly thirsty. This is despite having been fed food and water while she was at PAWS.
She drank three bowls of water, rested, and drank again. She even stood up at the basin when I was refilling the bowl for her.
One wonders how long she had been stranded at the divider…and how thirsty and hungry she must have been. But that’s in the past now. We are so thankful she is rescued and is safe now.
Nellie greeted everyone at the clinic – humans, dogs and cats! There is no feral temperament at all. She is completely human-friendly and would make a lovely companion. She was very friendly towards the children too. This lady at the clinic was totally charmed by Nellie and remarked how good natured she is, especially with her three children.
Nellie wanted to make friends with the few dogs and cats at the clinic too. Even while I was taking her along the five-foot way, she was greeting another dog. What a friendly girl she is!
The wait at the clinic was quite long, so Nellie took a nap.
When her turn finally came, an X-Ray was taken. It showed that the left front paw which is limping has a very “minimal hairline” fracture. The vet advised cage rest for a few weeks. No procedure or medication is required. It should heal on its own with cage rest.
The bill was RM111 and we have subsidised RM55.50 for it.
Mary would like to put Nellie up for adoption. If interested, please contact Mary at012-3282260.
We wish to thank our friend and all who had helped in the rescue of Nellie this morning. Also, thank you to PAWS for providing temporary shelter for Nellie.
