Dear Dr. Chan,

My name is Shia Lynn, and I found your email from a book given by my mother, which i believed was written by you.
I am writing on behalf of my mother, and also would like to express my admiration to you that i was very touched when i read your book. My mother and I are animal lovers, and we have been saving animals (mostly cats) along the way. Some became our pets for many years, some we save to feed them, and some ended up passing away because they were already sick or injured.
We recently saved a stray mother cat, it gave birth in our house to 3 adorable kittens and the litter have been with us ever since. We already have a dog, and its been quite tough funding the food, etc. coz i’m the only sole breadwinner whereelse my mother is retired.
We were hoping to get the mother cat neutered so that we can let her out of the house and be free. My mom is worried that she will get pregnant again, and if she does, we would have a hard time funding the food and all. Lately, she has been wanting to go out of the house, but we can,t yet at the same time, closing the glassdoor shut has made the house smelled pretty bad. Plus we can’t let the kittens out of the house too. Only once in awhile, for we fear of their safety. There’s alot of male cats around my area too.
We are also hoping to be able to seek help looking after the three adorable kittens… i am not sure how, because i have been trying my best looking for a solution, but i hope to be able to speak with you about it. On my behalf of my mother, thank you for your time. We hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Shia Lynn, Toh

Kitten names: Grey, Orange , Black

Mother cats name: Mothercat

Few months back, mothercat used to hang around outside my house. My mom and I fed it occasionally until we realized she was pregnant. I presume she was already looking for a safe place to give birth. One noon, my mom found mothercat in my garden under our rack; she already gave birth to them, and so my mom took them in and placed them in our kitchen (so that my dog would not bother them). There the 3 kittens was nursed and grew up safely together with their mother- inseparable. We temp called them Grey, Orange and Black. Very active and feisty kittens, they are one close family…

Unfortunately with our current house condition, we are not able to keep them for long. Also we are short of cash to spay the mothercat. And cat food is expensive (as i’m the only breadwinner, mom’s retired). I am hoping that someone kind would be able to adopt the family of cats.

Although, few days ago, we noticed that Orange has an eye condition- a third eye lid. we are looking into doctor’s appointment to get it fix. Nonetheless, we are still hoping for someone to adopt them. Please do. The kittens are fed with cat biscuits and mother’s milk. And the mothercat is a calm and graceful feline.
