It Pays To Be Prudent When Doing Charity

We wish to highlight here that when we publish any case, especially medical ones, we always cut-and-paste the requester’s email, so all requests are posted as received. If you are interested to help the requester directly, please do so with prudence and care, because most of the requesters are also total strangers to us and we have no way of verifying the authenticity or reliability of their cases when they first make the application through email.
However, before we pay out any claims from our funds, we would have received the before-and-after treatment photos of the animals, the original receipts from the vet, their application form with their details, and if need be, further verification from relevant sources. We will make all the necessary verifications before disbursing funds to any applicant.
The only thing we cannot verify is the “neediness” of the applicant. That would be based on trust. But at least with the photos and original receipt, we know an animal has been treated. If we are in doubt of the authenticity of any receipt, we will call the clinic to enquire further.
If you wish to channel extra donations to any particular case through our funds, rest assured we will exercise the same precautions and do all the necessary verifications before disbursing your extra donations to the applicants. Your name will also be published in the blogpost (unless you have requested anonymity) and you will be informed by email once your extra funds have been fully disbursed. This has always been our practice.
All donors’ names are also published in a blogpost on the last day of every month.
Also, please be advised that no person is authorised to collect donations on our behalf. All donations are to be banked into our society bank account or collected at our booths during events. It is also your right to request for a receipt for donations made.
It is great to be generous, but it also pays to exercise philanthropic prudence when being so.
Thank you.
